This mélange of modern and traditional ideas and various clay techniques provokes questions of identity and memory, while paying tribute to one of the finest ceramic traditions — Chinese porcelain, under the globalized world.

何善影曾在哈佛大学，香港艺术学院做驻场艺术家访问，曾在加拿大各地以及纽约大都会艺术博物馆举办过讲座、展览，她曾任教于美国东南路易斯安那大学、加拿大温哥华艾米丽·卡尔艺术设计学院大学、卡尔加里的阿尔伯塔艺术设计学院和蒙特利尔的康科迪亚大学。

现在何善影作为副教授永久任职于美国纽约城市大学皇后学院陶瓷艺术。她曾在美国、加拿大、中国、韩国、法国、德国、罗马尼亚展出。何被提名2011美国纽约路易斯·康福特·蒂芙尼双年奖。“伊甸园”系列的“转型一号和二号”曾在美国麻省波士顿艺术博物馆展出。

1996年，何是第一个新斯科舍艺术设计学院学生选派到江西省景德镇陶瓷学院进行校外研究及交流计划。在瓷城的生活和学习，传统与当代美学，东/西文化和教育系统 差异开始影响她的创作，无论是在技术和哲学方面。何于1998年，协助一组61人从美国，加拿大，英国和新西兰的陶瓷艺术家，教育家，评论家，收藏家参观宜兴，景德镇和 禹州陶瓷，还有重要城市，如上海，西安和北京。在翻译过程中，导发她探索语言，符号，图像和视觉语言的关系。

在过去的15年，何，不远万里，花大量的时间到景德镇创作她的作品。在瓷城中，何继续探索她的视觉语言来表达她的意见和情感，一个在香港长大的中国人住 在北美的经历。走向全球化，科技和经济演变地球成为一个未知的多民族和文化聚居地方。何的东西碰撞是跨文化经验的一种共同现象

Sin-ying Ho 

Bio

Sin-Ying Ho was born in Hong Kong, immigrated to Canada, and currently lives in New York City. Ho is Associate Professor and Head of Ceramics at Queens College, City University of New York. She earned her MFA from Louisiana State University in 2001. 

Ho has conducted workshops, lectures and exhibited art all across Canada, as well as at the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City and at Harvard University.   Overseas she has exhibited art in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, France, Germany and Romania. She was nominated  in 2011 for a Louis Comfort Tiffany Fellowship.  Ho~q~s series, “Eden,” was exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. 

Her sculptures are in the permanent collections of the Hood Museum of Art in New Hampshire, the Icheon World Ceramic Centre in Korea, Glenbow Museum in Canada, Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan, and at the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong.  Her sculpture "Music" is the cover image of "Utopic Impulses: Contemporary Ceramics Practice," edited by Ruth Chambers, Amy Gogarty & Mireille Perron (Ronsdale Press 2007).

我艺术之旅的种子早就种在我生活在英格兰南部的人生中。我一直在许多国家旅行，寻求体验和分享这个世界的文化和自然美。山脉，海洋，河流和瀑布仍然激发着我的作品。现在我的作品探索了人类经验与景观相结合的美感。对我来说，这些是我生命中最好的灵感观察; 人类的经历和自然。这两个主题是一系列统一的线条和构图，创造了审美的自然平衡。我在色域，光，声和诗歌的矩阵中构建这些作品，探索人类经验的多个层面。我的材料包括混合媒体陶瓷，水彩和丙烯画，纸张，木材等。我的作品探索了人类体验的美感与我想象中的3D景观相结合。

The seeds of my artistic journey were planted early in my life living in the south of England.  I have been travelling to many countries in search of experiencing and sharing cultures and the natural beauty in this world.  The mountains, oceans, rivers, and waterfalls still inspire my compositions. Now my work explores the beauty of the human experience combined with landscapes.  For me, these are the best of my inspired observations in life; the human experience and Nature.   The two subjects are a unified series of lines and compositions that create a natural balance of aesthetic beauty.

I construct these compositions within a matrix of color fields, light, sound and poetry that explore the multiple layers of the human experience.  My materials include mixed media ceramic, watercolor and acrylic painting, paper, wood, etc. My work explores the beauty of the human experience combined with 3D landscapes of my imagination.
